The workshop takes as its starting point Andri Snær Magnason’s book, Il tempo e l'acqua (Iperborea, 2020), which reflects on our present era—an era in which, within a few generations, perhaps even within a single person’s lifetime, the world around us will undergo radical changes at a “speed that possesses the power of myth: not only affecting every form of life on Earth” but confronting us with changes “far greater than those to which our minds are accustomed… more complex than our language and the metaphors we use to navigate reality” (p.13).

The artists propose a process made up of simple, collective gestures—cutting, folding, gluing, listening—to transform paper into a poetic and shared material.
Amid words, images, and silences, the workshop becomes a space for encounter: an invitation to rethink our relationship with time, water, and the cycles that run through individual and collective life.
