The project explores Brazil’s syncretic devotional context, with a particular focus on the cult of water, as an extension of a reflection on the complexity of the Mediterranean cultural heritage that the artist has been developing from Sardinia, his homeland.

The event will provide an opportunity to present and retrace together the key stages of GianMarco Porru’s research, which took place in Rio de Janeiro in collaboration with Solar dos Abacaxis, which hosted the artist’s residency from October to December 2023.
