As part of YOU ARE HERE. Central Asia, the Elpis Foundation is hosting a series of two talks curated by Sheida Ghomashchi, designed to explore certain themes related to the exhibition.
Sheida Ghomashchi, curator, will be in conversation with Aeron O’Connor, a social anthropologist who has been spending extended periods in Tajikistan since 2015 conducting research on the region’s urban, intellectual, and family histories.
In Tajikistan in the Context of the Turkic-Persian World, O’Connor will delve into aspects of socio-cultural life in contemporary Tajikistan and explore its rich cosmopolitan history through its connections to the region and the broader Turkic-Persian world.
