From 2 to 24 March 2024 Fondazione Elpis presents the exhibition project 39° North 16°3' Est, a narration that, starting from the geographical coordinates of Calabria, unfolds through two exhibitions: Symposium, a group exhibition of the outcomes of the In-ruins artistic residency held in 2023 at the Archaeological Park of Sibari and the National Archaeological Museum of Amendolara, featuring the works of Arie Amaya-Akkermans, Simon DeReyer Bellouard, Cañadas & Murua, Beatrice Celli, Akshay Mahajan, Matilde Sambo and Traslochi Emotivi, and the solo exhibition 'Nziembru, which presents a series of previously unseen works by artist Fabrizio Bellomo.

The project will be inaugurated on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March with a programme of talks, performances and workshops aimed at introducing and deepening the contents of the exhibition starting from the works and testimonies of the participating artists.

Emotional Dance - Performance workshop with Marla Francis

Performance artist, pedagogue and founder of the company "I figli di Marla" (Marla's children), Marla Francis proposes the workshop "Emotional Dance", which looks at the body as a complex system of memories and recollections that constitute an archive of a being, the human being, always in becoming.
Max. 10 participants.

Talk - In-ruins

Presentation of the project with the curators, resident artists 2023 and Gianmarco Porru (artist and resident 2022).

Deposta - performance by Traslochi Emotivi

with memories by Giulia Currá, Danila Gambettola, Beatrice Celli and Thomas Valerio.

Live set with Pasquale Lomolino and Fabio Orsi

Record producer and director of the independent label Backwards, Pasquale Lomolino has published and edited more than 150 publications with some of the most renowned international artists in the avant-garde field, using the most diverse media and curating numerous festivals, exhibitions and concerts; Fabio Orsi is a composer, photographer and musician with skills and experience in the field of experimental research, with a focus on the environmental propagation of sound. Working in tandem, the duo will present original compositions taken from field recordings made ad hoc at the Sibari Archaeological Park and inspired by the idea of an 'archaeology of the Mediterranean'.

Conversation with the artists Fabrizio Bellomo and Armando Perna and the writer Gioacchino Criaco
, starting with the contents of Bellomo's exhibition 'Nziembru and Perna's recent publication Presente Infinito (both projects dedicated to the Calabrian territory).
